I wanted to tell you something special I did with the strawberry cupcakes from the December Prairie Pak.
We lost all power at 940 Tuesday morning, 11 Dec 07. We had some extremely cold nights at home in my mobile home which I wouldn't leave because I needed to make sure my parents were taken care of. Sunday late afternoon (16 Dec) a crew of three men, one of them as far away as Louisiana came to work on my power lines and we finally had power back at 5:30pm. I wanted a way to thank them for their hard work in the cold weather and for leaving their families to come help others during the holiday season. Needless to say I had to hot coffee to offer them..... so I gave the crew of 3 the beautiful Strawberry Cupcakes from the Cheese Cake Factory that we received in our December Prairie Pak.
My hats off to these men that helped me be warm once again.

It is a great way for us to receive meat and other items that I can not normally afford. I think that it is a good way to promote helping others/volunteering. It is great that I can order online each month and just pick it up when it comes in. It is handy and great since we are so busy.

The Volunteers get up early, on a Saturday no less!, and get the food all boxed and ready so that I can stroll on in and pick it up. I don't think many people know or appreciate their hard work. I know I don't appreciate it enough.

I love this program. It really helps me in my food budget and since I hate to shop anyway, it saves me time and I don't have to keep going to the store for groceries. I can put the frozen items in the freezer and I have a variety of meats to choose from when meal time arrives.

We are starting our 3rd or 4th month with PLF, and we love it. Wanted to let you know that we are enjoying it all, but we'd really like to get more of those Flame Broiled Meatballs from the October pack. They revolutionized our spaghetti!

I know I eat healthier than I used to because the vegetables and fruits are there and I'm bad about buying them in the store as often as I should. It is great. Wish more would participate.
