Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I order more than one package?
A: Once a minimum of one Prairie Pack is purchased, there is no limit to the number of additional packages that can be added.
Q: How do I go about buying a package?
A: Just contact the developer in your area to find a host site near you. Check our contact page to find the appropriate information. A complete list of cities and towns hosting sites is available by clicking on the “Site Locations” area on this website.
Q: Will it be delivered right to my door?
A: Food orders are delivered by refrigerated trucks to designated host sites, which are typically churches, community centers, or public buildings. It is the responsiblity of the participant to pick up grocery orders at the time and location on their receipt. Participants unable to pick up their food, can arrange to have someone pick it up for them. Packages not picked up will be donated, no refunds will be given.
Q. What qualifies as volunteering?
Anything you do to give someone a helping hand counts: Be it babysitting, tutoring, carpooling, giving a ride, coaching, or singing in a choir, just about anything counts. Volunteer hours are on the honor system. Volunteer slips are available with food orders. The slips are then turned in when you pick up your food order each month.
Q. Are returns or refunds possible?
Nearly all food in a package will be fresh fruits and vegetables along with frozen meats of all varieties. All food is preordered, so unfortunately, no refunds or returns are possible. Questions or concerns about of food packages can be addressed to host site personnel or area developer.
